As the leaves change in Duluth and along the North Shore, visitors from all over the state flock to the area to view the changing colors. In Duluth, we're fortunate to live so close to such a beautiful scene.
If this is your first year living in the city, try and get out for a day and just take in all the colors. Whether you're visiting places in the city like Chester Creek, Hartley or Bagley Nature Center, or heading up the shore to the Scenic Highway, Superior Hiking Trail, Gooseberry or Split Rock, make sure to bring a camera.
This week should be the best week yet to get out and see the fall colors. Typically, the further from Lake Superior and the farther up the shore you travel, the better the leaves will look. But it also goes in splotches, so don't be deterred if not all the leaves are changing.
So … if you have anytime to just let the colors wash over you, get out soon. It will be an experience you won't soon forget.
